Synopsis: The local sheriff decides to bring Steve and Brandy up on charges for assisting Rom whom the authorities consider to be a murderer. Rom finds himself at the bottom of a mine shaft where he encounters Serpentyne. The creature tells him of a previous encounter with Ms. Marvel and also explains his hatred of the Dire Wraiths. Discovering that Rom possesses a weapon that can banish Wraiths forever, Serpentyne attacks him so that he can be the sole slayer of the Wraiths.
